Nairobi, Kenya
With four weeks left in my fellowship, I’ve been daydreaming about what I’ll be most excited about when I get home. Looking at my list I’m a little embarrassed. It’s official. I’m a total yuppie. Go ahead and judge. I cannot wait to embrace my yuppieness in a month!
- Tap water
- My sonic care toothbrush
- My car. This one really surprised me since I hate driving, but not having a car makes daytripping difficult. I’ve seen one Audi in last 3 months, and I wanted to hug it. After riding in overcrowded matatus with my feet resting on engines so hot I thought my flip flops would melt, I can’t wait to get my car back.
- Sushi
- Soft, fluffy towels. After washing a towel 3+ times here, it’s as pleasant as drying off with cardboard.
- Pilates
- A clean apartment
- High speed internet
- High thread count bed linings
- Really great wine
- Nice, hoppy beer
- Daily Show/ Colbert Report
You”ll miss them even more by the time you get back home!
i brought my sonic care toothbrush to peru. as of late i am regretting that decision. hang in there!
I brought my sonic care too, but it wasn’t dual voltage and broke. 😦 It’s so much extra work to move around the toothbrush on my own! 🙂
I truly admire all that you have experienced and accomplished but I like you would really miss my wine so I’m headed off to Provence in a week. I’m a spoiled old lady who will be tooling through southern France in a cushy rental car, with plenty of wine stops along the way! Enjoy all the comforts you have missed the last few months……you deserve them!
Hey, that sounds pretty cool too. I plan to visit some wineries in South Africa before heading back to the US. Have fun!
