Mount Longonot- These Feet are Made for Walking

Mount Longonot, Kenya

It’s not all serious business in Nairobi!  The Kiva Zip team decided to escape the smog and traffic of Nairobi, and headed northwest of the city for a good hike.  Mount Longonot is a dormant volcano in the Great Rift Valley area of Kenya.  We hiked up the side of the volcano (which is really just a cone of its former self) and then around the rim.  I’m pretty sure there was some secret world at the bottom of the crater, but we didn’t venture in to verify. Just an easy 5.5 hours of hiking and a peak of 2800 meters.  Ain’t no big deal.
